Hadi Sinaee
M.Sc., University of British Columbia

I am Hadi Sinaee, a graduate student at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. I am a member of Systopia Lab, where I build Graph Analytic systems under the supervision of Prof. Margo Seltzer. Previously, I received my M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence from the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, where my research focused on Machine Learning, explicitly applying Deep Learning to sensory data for human behaviour prediction in smart homes.

As to professional experience, I co-founded HodHod Messenger, an instant messaging application funded by four prominent VCs in Tehran, Iran. I have spent about three years at HodHod and working as the CTO of the company. I call those days one of the best days of my professional career. Unfortunately, we had to shut down the company. Moving from HodHod, I was working as the CTO and Director of Product at Ostadkar, the largest online platform for home services in Iran. I had the chance to scale the engineering and product team from 5 to 30 over six months.
